Greeba Barlow Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Queens, NY - St. John's University women's basketball guard, Greeba Barlow, was named Player of the Week by the BIG EAST Conference, it was announced this morning by the league office.
The 5-8 senior guard led the Red Storm to two BIG EAST wins this week, averaging 16.0 points per game. For the week, she shot 81.2% from the field, missing only three shots, and also shot 80% from the three point line, hitting 4-of-5 attempts from long distance.
On Wednesday against Providence, she shot 5-for-6 from the field, including 3-of-4 from the three-point line, and finished with 13 points in the win. On Saturday she scored a game-high 19 points and led St. John's to a 69-52 win over then No. 16 Boston College. Barlow tallied 11 points in the second half, including five-straight to open the period.
This is the first BIG EAST weekly honor for the senior, who is in her first season with the Red Storm after transferring from George Washington.
The Red Storm are 16-5 overall and 5-5 in the conference. The win over Boston College was St. John's first win over a top-25 opponent in 12 years.
St. John's will return to action on Tuesday at West Virginia. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 pm and the game can be viewed on CSTV.
