St. John's Competes at Pinehurst Intercollegiate Golf Tournament

Tuesday, March 29, 2005, Pinehurst, NC - The St. John's University men's golf team tied for 11th place at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate Golf Tournament in Pinehurst, NC this afternoon.
SMU's Colt Knost took the title in the individual field after shooting a 69 this afternoon to take command in the field of 63 golfers.
Keegan Bradley led St. John's, finishing in 15th place after shooting a 76 in this afternoon. His final stats were 12-over par at 288.
Junior Tom Travalja and Brian McArdle tied for 48th place with a final score of 21-over par 235. Sophomore Joe Yastrub finished in 59th place at 29-over par 245 and senior Ian Middleton finished in 62nd place at 37-over par 253.
SMU won the tournament at 11-over par 875. Xavier was one shot off the pace and in second place, followed by Indiana (24-over par 888), Marquette (35-over par 899), Southern Mississippi (41-over par 905), Richmond (43-over par 907), UNC-Wilmington (54-over par 918), East Carolina (54-over par 918), Washington State (59-over par 923), Akron (78-over par 942), St. John's and Bowling Green (83-over par 947).
The Red Storm returns to action next Saturday when they will travel to Issue, MD for the George Washington Invitational at the Swan Point Yacht Club.
