Red Storm Break Top 10 at G.W. Invite

April 3, 2005, Queens, NY -- At a soggy Swan Point Yacht and Country Club in Issue, MD, the George Washington Invitational was cut short to only one round due to severe rains. The Red Storm men's golf team finished the day 14 strokes back of the winner Villanova (303), and in a tie with Hartford for 9th place at 317.
Longwood University (305), George Washington (305), IUPUI (305), and Radford University (308) followed the Wildcats to complete the top-five.
For St. John's, freshman Keegan Bradley (Hopkinton MA) tied for thirty-first with a six over par 78 followed by junior Brian McArdle (Huntington, NY) seven over par 79, tied for 42nd. Junior Tom Travajla (Ordell, NJ) and sophomore Joe Yastrub (Lake Grove, NY) both tied for 55th place shooting an identical eight over par 80. Rounding out the Red Storm five was Ian Middleton (British Columbia, Canada) shooting a thirteen over 85 placing him in a tie for ninety-third place overall.
Jonathan Hewett (Villanova), Robby Bigley (Siena), Roman Luthra (GW), and Colin Mahon (Villanova) all finished with a +1 (73) to top the leader board, with Hewett receiving the top honors.
The Red Storm returns to action this weekend when they will travel to Princeton, NJ for the Princeton Invitational.
