Kim Barnes Arico
Head Coach, St. John's
On today's game:
"I knew this was going to be a tough game for us. West Virginia is always very physical and always plays us really well, but we did some really nice things at the end. Greeba [Barlow] and Tara [Walker] stepped and hit some big shots for us. We're happy to come out of here with the win."
On the team's start:
"I was really proud of our start. We threw the team into the mix today. Monique [McLean] had her second career start and we put Greeba [Barlow] at the point, which she hasn't had to do this season. They came out and were ready to play and they were focused."
On the 8-0 home record and 3-0 record at MSG:
"It is all about winning the game that you have at home. I think we have stepped up and done that. It is a great opportunity for the girls to play at Madison Square Garden, especially with so many from New York. They grew up watching the Knicks and St. John's play here, so for them to have the opportunity to be on that court is great for them."
Angela Clark
Junior, Forward
On scoring 1,000 career points:
"It was a great feeling. I just need to keep fighting and working hard."
Greeba Barlow
Senior, Guard
On the team's start:
"It was a big boost for our team that we able to play above West Virginia. I knew as soon as they came in I knew it would get higher. It was a great confidence for not only me but for me but our whole team."
