With the clinching of a BIG EAST tournament berth last weekend and heading into its final two conference matches of the regular season, head coach Joanne Persico-Smith and the St. John???s volleyball team have been featured on Newsday.com.
Newsday staff writer Joseph Staszewski says that the ???St. John's women's volleyball team has reached uncharted territory. It is 27-1 overall, unbeaten in the Big East at 12-0, setting a program record for wins in a season and trying to make its way into the Top 25 national rankings.???

The Red Storm leads the nation in kills per game (17.60) and is third in assists per game (16.29) and match win-loss percentage (.964). St. John???s continues to hold onto first place in the Northeast Region and has been receiving votes in the CSTV/AVCA Coaches Poll since Oct. 2.
St. John???s returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 11 against Rutgers. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m., at Carnesecca Arena. The Red Storm then hosts the Wildcats of Villanova on Sunday, Nov. 12. First serve is slated for 5 p.m.
