Lauren Lupinetti Makes BIG EAST Softball Honor Roll

QUEENS, N.Y. - Freshman infielder Lauren Lupinetti (Long Beach, Calif.) was named to the BIG EAST's weekly honor roll for the week of Feb. 27.
Lupinetti was 5-for-11 at the plate during last weekend's Adidas Golden Panther Invitational, posting a .455 batting average with three runs and six RBI. She also knocked her first career home run out of the park in a loss against Memphis. For her efforts, Lupinetti was named to the Golden Panther All-Tournament team.
"Lauren had a great weekend for us and came through in a lot of tough situations," said head coach Debbie DeJong. "It is great to have a freshmen recognized in only the second week of the season, especially in this conference."
The Red Storm will head to Orlando, Fla., on March 3 for its annual spring break trip. During the 10-day span, St. John's will take on Stetson, the University of Central Florida, Bethune-Cookman and compete in the Florida State Tournament.
