Red Storm Completes Three Game Series With Stetson

DELAND, FLA. - The St. John's softball team finished a three game series at Stetson University, coming up empty handed with three losses. Pitching was the biggest factor in the games, and Stetson's ace Erica Demers held the Red Storm to one run in the final game of the weekend. St. John's was defeated by a final score of 11-1.
Offensively, the Red Storm got four hits off of Demers. Freshman Roxann Struble put up the lone run of the game when she drove in senior Jo Sherlock during the second inning.
Struble was reliable at the plate this weekend going 4-for-6 with one RBI. Sherlock had the most success off of Stetson's pitchers going 5-for-10 with three runs and one RBI. Senior Megan Oliver and Junior Loren Anguiano had two RBI a piece.
The Red Storm will enjoy an off day on Monday, March 5 before playing games at the University of Central Florida on Tuesday and Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday.
