Red Storm Softball Falls To Towson

Greenville, N.C. ??? The St. John???s softball team took a 7-2 loss to Towson at the Baymont Inn & Suites Pirate Classic. Tournament action will continue Saturday, Feb. 24, when the Red Storm takes on Appalachian State at 9 a.m.

Junior co-captain Bionka King led St. John???s offensively in the game, going 2-for-3 at the plate with one run and one RBI. Fellow captain Tami Hill continued to flourish in the leadoff spot, contributing a single to left field and an RBI. Senior Loren Anguiano posted her first hit and run of the season, scoring St. John???s second run of the day.

Pitchers Kim Lerch and Lisa Geer split time in the game, with Lerch getting the start and working over the first two innings. Geer struck out three over the final four innings.
