Red Storm softball sophomore Roxann Struble was named to the BIG EAST???s weekly honor roll, it was announced Monday.
Struble was outstanding for St. John???s, leading them to a 4-2 week, 2-2 in conference action. She hit .647 over six games, posting nine runs, 11 hits, two doubles, three home runs and nine RBI. Since hitting her first career home run, grand slam against No. 24 DePaul, March 25, the infielder has had at least one long ball in each set of doubleheaders. In BIG EAST action alone, Struble recorded a .667 batting average, two homers and seven RBI.
???Roxy has really come into her own as of late,??? said head coach Amy Kvilhaug. ???She is hitting the ball really well and defensively, is doing a fantastic job at whatever corner she is covering. More so than her play, Roxy???s leadership and fire has become a catalyst for the team.???
The Red Storm will be back in action this week, playing in a pair of non-conference doubleheaders. St. John???s will travel to Yale on Wednesday, April 4, for a 3 p.m. matchup and St. Peter???s, Thursday, April 5. First pitch for Thursday???s games will be at 1 p.m.
