QUEENS, N.Y. - After posting a shutout against No. 5 West Virginia and allowing just one goal in a 2-0-0 week for the Red Storm, senior goalkeeper Jason Landers was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week.
The two-time BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year missed the first six games of the season because of an elbow injury and made his first start of the season against No. 5 West Virginia. In that game he made two saves and posted a shutout in the Red Storm's 1-0 win.
Landers also stopped one shot in a 4-1 win over Pittsburgh as the Red Storm improved to 4-3-1 on the season and gave head coach Dr. Dave Masur his 300th career win.
For the week, the senior captain posted a 0.50 goals against average and a .750 save percentage.
