BIG EAST Holds Annual Women's Basketball Media Day

NEW YORK - St. John's head women's basketball coach Kim Barnes Arico and senior guard Monique McLean attended the BIG EAST Conference's annual Media Day on Thursday. The event was held at ESPN Zone in Times Square and numerous media outlets, including television stations, magazines, newspapers and websites, were in attendance.
Barnes Arico and McLean talked about the upcoming season, the returning players and newcomers, and touched on numerous other topics including the team's run in the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) in 2007-08.
After talking with print, radio and magazine outlets on the first level of ESPN Zone, Barnes Arico and McLean made the rounds upstairs with various television outlets.
The Red Storm was picked 13th in the 2008-09 BIG EAST Preseason Poll, which is voted on by all 16 head coaches. 2008 Final Four participant Connecticut was picked to finish first with 224 points, including 14 first-place votes. Rutgers edged Louisville by one point for second place with 201.
