- With the victory, the Red Storm opens the season 4-0 for the first time since 2005-06, when the squad began the season with a seven-game winning streak en route to a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
- Kim Barnes Arico notched her 90th victory as head coach of the St. John's women's basketball team. In her seventh season, Barnes Arico has compiled a 90-91 mark with the Red Storm.
- The Red Storm bench combined to outscore Army's 17-2, led by sophomore Centhya Hart's 12 points.
- Coming into the contest tied for first in the BIG EAST averaging 3.00 3-point field goals per game, senior Kelly McManmon (game-high 15 points, 5-of-11 shooting) nailed five from long distance for the second time this season and the fourth time in her career. McManmon has at least one trey in each contest for the Red Storm in 2008-09. The five 3-pointers also tie for 10th in the Red Storm single-game record books.
- With 12 points, Centhya Hart equaled her career-high. Hart was 3-of-5 from the field and tallied a career-best six free throws on 6-of-8 shooting from the charity stripe.
