QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's women's basketball player Monique McLean has been named to the PrestoSports/Met Basketball Writers Association Honor Roll, as announced by the organization Monday.
McLean had a strong offensive week for the Red Storm, posting consecutive double-digit scoring games. She averaged 18.5 points per game and shot 46.2 percent from the field. Against Georgetown, the junior posted her third-straight 20-point scoring contest with a team-high 23. She shot 57.1 percent from the field, going 8-of-14, and was 3-of-6 from long range for a 50.0 average. In her start against Villanova, McLean finished with 14 points and was perfect from the charity stripe, converting all five tries.
This is the second straight honor for the junior from the MBWA, as McLean was named player of the week for her efforts a week ago.
McLean and the Red Storm will take the court on Wednesday when they host Louisville at Carnesecca Arena. Tip-off is slated for 7:05 p.m.
