Women's Basketball Travels To Nation's Capital

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's women's basketball team will look to extend its two-game win streak when it travels to face BIG EAST rival Georgetown on Wednesday at McDonough Arena. The game is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
• The game will feature live stats that can be accessed at RedStormSports.com for free. There will also be a live audio/video stream available at GUHoyas.com for a cost of $6.95.
• St. John's is coming off a conference win over Marquette on Saturday, 77-67, which improved the Red Storm's slate to 12-9, 3-5 BIG EAST. The win was the second straight league victory and the third overall of the season for St. John's. Monique McLean led the team with a 24-point contest against the Golden Eagles.
The Series With The Hoyas
• The game between the Red Storm and the Hoyas is the 45th meeting all-time between the schools. Georgetown has the slight edge in the series, 23-21. The Red Storm has struggled as of late against its conference foe, losing 11 of the last 12 meetings.
Moore Out 2-3 Weeks Due To Injury
• Junior Kristin Moore will miss two-to-three weeks of action due to a meniscus tear. She suffered the injury during practice and had surgery to repair it the week of Feb. 4.

• The Red Storm has outscored its opponents this season by an average of 4.5 points. The team is averaging 68.0 points per game, while its opposition nets 63.6 per contest.
• St. John's is also more effective in its shooting, both overall and from long range. The team is connecting on 40.8 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from downtown, while holding its opponents to 38.3 from the field and 29.0 from 3-point range.
• On the defensive side, St. John's has been a menace to other teams this year thanks to its shot blocking. The team is swatting an average of 4.1 balls per game and has out-blocked its opponent on 12 occasions.
McLean Hits The 900-Point Plateau
• With 24 points against Marquette on Feb. 2, Monique McLean reached and surpassed the 900-point plateau and now sits at 919 for her career. The junior has been a force on the offensive side of the ball since she arrived in Queens and is currently leading team with a 14.3 points-per-game average. She is close to scoring 1,000 points and is only 81 shy of becoming the 16th person in Red Storm history to achieve the feat.
Barnes Arico Tallies 80th Victory At St. John's
• With a 77-67 win over Marquette on Feb. 2, head coach Kim Barnes Arico tallied her 80th-career win at the helm of the St. John's program. Her record after taking over the reigns six years ago now stands at 80-85.
