St. John's In Fifth At BIG EAST Championship

Hebron, Ky. - The Red Storm men's golf team (12-over, 300) is currently in fifth overall after the first day of play at the BIG EAST Championship.
The three day tournament held at the par 72, Traditions Golf Club in Hebron, Ky. teed off today with senior co-captain Keegan Bradley leading the way. St. John's trails Marquette (3-over), Seton Hall, (6-over), Louisville (8-over) and Notre Dame (8-over).
Bradley, 1-under, 71, is currently tied for second. The All-America candidate has played very well as of late and is coming off back-to-back tournament wins.
Junior Kevin Velardo and sophomore Evan Beirne are tied for 28th overall with a 4-over 76.
Play will resume tomorrow morning with the second round. The third and final round will be held on Tuesday.
