St. John's Continues Road Trip At West Virginia

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's women's basketball team will continue its road trip and look to get back on the winning track when it faces West Virginia on Saturday at 2 p.m.
• The game is part of the BIG EAST Game of the Week package and will be aired live on SportsNet New York. Beth Mowins will have the call and Brooke Weisbrod will provide the color commentary. Fans that cannot access the game on TV can watch live on ESPN360.com. Live stats will also be available on MSNSportsNet.com.
• The STJ-WVU contest is the third TV game in the last four outings for the Red Storm. On the season, St. John's is 1-2 in TV games, posting a win against Northeastern on Nov. 14, 70-52, and dropping games to USF, 81-71 (ot), on Jan. 10 and to Georgetown, 64-48, on Jan. 13.
History Lesson
• The contest between St. John's and West Virginia is the 19th meeting all-time, with the Mountaineers leading the series 14-4. WVU has a 8-1 record at home, a 4-3 slate on the road and a 2-0 mark at neutral sites. The Mountaineers have won the last three meetings. The last STJ win was on Jan. 29, 2006, a 74-69 victory at Madison Square Garden.
Scouting The Mountaineers
• West Virginia enters the contest with a 11-7, 0-5 BIG EAST record. The Mountaineers have dropped five of their last six contests, with its only win during that stretch coming against in-state foe Marshall, 74-65, on Jan. 14. WVU's last outing was a 60-44 loss to Rutgers on Jan. 20. The Mountaineers have performed better at home this season, as they have posted a 6-4 slate in Morgantown.
• Three players are averaging double figures in scoring for WVU. Takish Granberry is leading the way, averaging 16.1 points to shoot 40.8 from the field. She is also pacing the way from long distance with a team-high 37.7 3-point field goal percentage. Liz Repella is a close second with 15.7 ppg, connecting on 36.9 percent of field goals attempted. She is also leading the way in rebounding, grabbing 7.9 per outing. Sarah Miles rounds out the double-figure scorers, averaging 11.5 ppg.

• 16-7: St. John's second chance points compared to Notre Dame's in the BIG EAST matchup on Jan. 17.
On Deck
• The Red Storm returns home to host DePaul on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The contest is the fourth meeting all-time between the teams, with the Blue Demons leading the series 2-1. Each team has a perfect record on their respective home court.
Thefts Across The Board
• For the first time this season, every Red Storm player that saw action against Notre Dame on Jan. 17 recorded a steal, and all but two players recorded two steals in the contest.
