QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's softball coach Amy Kvilhaug has announced that the Red Storm coaching staff will host a pair of summer softball camps next July at Red Storm Field.
The first camp is for advanced softball players and runs from July 12-14. This camp is intended for players in grades 9-12 with high school softball and/or travel ball experience who are looking to build upon their existing softball backgrounds through intense training. Kvilhaug, assistant coaches Laura Taylor and Andy Russo, and STJ players will serve as instructors. Campers will also work with a St. John's strength and conditioning coach.
The beginner camp runs from July 15-16. This camp will focus on the softball basics for players between the ages of 10 and 18. It is geared towards players who are new to the game or looking to improve their basic skill set over a two-day period.
