Joy McCorvey grabbed 11 rebounds, matching her season high. With 597 career boards, she has surpassed Rita Haywood (595, 1978-81) on the all-time rebounding list and currently sits tied for ninth with Marianne Noonan (1978-80). McCorvey has now recorded seven or more rebounds in four of STJ's six contests this season.
Senior Kelly McManmon's 15 points vs. Stetson were her most since scoring 16 in a 69-56 loss at Marquette on Feb. 21, 2009.
After a 3-of-6 effort from 3-point range against the Hatters, McManmon now has 156 career treys and sits 17 away from breaking Monique McLean's (2006-09) Red Storm record of 172.
Freshman guard Nadirah McKenith made her first career start against Stetson.
With five assists on Tuesday night, McKenith has now dished out at least five dimes in four of the Red Storm's six games this season.
The Red Storm started the game on an 11-0 run. After leading 43-20 at the half, St. John's opened the second frame with 14-5 run.
Junior Sky Lindsay led the team with 18 points and dished out a career-high eight assists. She last led the team in scoring on March 26, 2009, when she netted 16 in a 68-64 loss to Boston College in the third round of the WNIT at Carnesecca Arena.
Lindsay scored nine points in the first half and nine points in the second half, her most in one half this season. Her previous season high was eight in the first half against Stony Brook (Nov. 15).
With Lindsay (18), McManmon (15), McCorvey (14), and Amanda Burakoski (12) all scoring in double figures, the Red Storm has had four players contribute double-digit points in four of the team's six wins this season. St. John's has had three or more players score in double figures in every game this year.
