QUEENS, N.Y. -
- With the score tied at 40-40, St. John's went on a 28-5 run over the last 7:55. Sophomore Paris Horne sparked the rally, scoring 14 of his 19 points during the stretch.
- St. John's held USF to just 44 points and 35.3 percent (18-of-51) shooting from the floor. Both totals were the lowest allowed by the Red Storm since Dec. 20, 2008 against Marist.
- The Red Storm also had just 10 turnovers (the fewest since 12/20), including only three in the second half.
- Sean Evans tallied his fifth-career double-double with 11 points and 10 boards. Evans has three double-doubles in BIG EAST action.
- Horne led the Red Storm in scoring for the fourth-straight game. The sophomore is averaging 20.5 points in that stretch.
- Justin Burrell finished with 10 points to surpass the 500-career point mark. Burrell has 508 points in 49 career games.
- D.J. Kennedy also reached the 500-career point mark with a six point effort. Kennedy now has 505 points in his 51 career games. The sophomore also added six rebounds and a game-high five assists.
- In his first game since Dec. 21, sophomore Malik Boothe started and finished with five points, four rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes.
- Also returning to the lineup after missing four games, Rob Thomas tallied six points and four rebounds (three offensive) in 18 minutes. Thomas has at least one offensive rebound in 11 games this season.
- As a team, St. John's totaled 39 rebounds (11 offensive) to hold a +10 margin on the boards.
