Da'Shena Stevens Named To MBWA Honor Roll

QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's women's basketball player Da'Shena Stevens has been named to the Met Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Honor Roll for the week ending Feb. 15, as announced by the organization.
Stevens had one of the biggest games of her young career against No. 1 UConn on Feb. 11. The rookie scored a game-high 27 points (11-of-17) against the Huskies, setting a new career best. The Stamford, Conn., native's 27 points were the most scored by one player against UConn all season. Stevens also came close to recording a double-double with a team-high nine rebounds, and she led the way for the Red Storm with two blocks in 32 minutes of play. She shot 83.3 percent from the free throw line on a 5-of-6 effort.
On the week, she averaged 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds and shot 52.2 from the field in two outings.
The Red Storm continues action Tuesday at 7 p.m. when it takes on No. 8/12 Louisville at Freedom Hall.
