St. John's Travels To Pitt In Regular-Season Finale

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's women's basketball team concludes regular-season action when it travels to face No. 15/20 Pittsburgh on Monday at 7 p.m.

Scouting The Panthers
• Pittsburgh enters the contest with a 21-6, 11-4 BIG EAST record. The Panthers have won three of their last four and 10 of their last 12 games. The team had a three-game winning streak going until it was snapped by Louisville on Feb. 28, as the Cardinals came away with the 75-51 win. On the season, Pitt is scoring 74.7 points per game and its average margin of victory is 16.6. The team is also strong on the glass, outrebounding its competition by a margin of 9.4.
• The Panthers have two players averaging double-figures in scoring. Shavonte Zellous leads the team with 22.7 points per game. The redshirt senior is one of the squad's most effective shooters, averaging 42.4 from the field (203-of-479). The guard also leads the team with 53 3-pointers made and her rebounding average of 5.7 is the third-highest. Xenia Stewart rounds out the double-figure scorers with 11.1 ppg. The senior is shooting 43.8 from the floor, going 110-of-251, and leads the team with 42 steals. On the glass, Shayla Scott is grabbing a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game.
History Lesson
• The contest between St. John's and Pittsburgh is the 46th meeting all-time between the teams, with the Red Storm leading the series 30-15. St. John's has a 16-5 record at home, a 13-9 slate on the road and a 1-1 mark at neutral sites. Although the Panthers won last year's meeting, 70-64, the Red Storm has won six of the last seven and nine of the last 12 meetings.
