Final Day Of Hawai'i Spring Fling Canceled

HONOLULU, Hawai'i - Hawai'i Spring Fling officials decided to cancel the final day of play on Saturday due to rain and wind in the Honolulu area. Field conditions led to the cancelation of St. John's 1 p.m. HST matchup vs. host Hawai'i.
The Red Storm went 1-4 in five games at the tournament including a 2-1 victory over Wisconsin and a 6-2 loss to No. 9/11 California. Senior Roxy Struble hit .400 (6-for-15) with two doubles and an RBI while sophomore pitchers Kat Lawrence and Linzee Sumrall combined to strike out 61 batters in 34.0 innings.
St. John's next contest will be its first home game of the season at Red Storm field in Queens. STJ will host Hofstra in a single game at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18.
