St. John's Ranked No. 15 In NSCAA Poll

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's men's soccer team is ranked No. 15 in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll, released today. The Red Storm is also ranked No. 15 in the latest Soccer America rankings. St. John's was 0-1-1 on the weekend, playing Stony Brook to a 1-1 draw and falling to then-No. 14 Boston University, 1-0.
St. John's is also ranked seventh by College Soccer News, ninth by TopDrawerSoccer and 13th by Soccer Times.
The Red Storm fell behind in the first half against the Seawolves after a penalty kick. St. John's got the equalizer in the second half on a goal by Sverre Wegge Gundhus en route to the 1-1 draw. The tie extended the team's home unbeaten streak to 14 games (12-0-2).
St. John's closed play on the weekend with a hard-fought 1-0 defeat at BU. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Red Storm against the Terriers. St. John's defeated BU twice in 2008, including a 1-0 win in the NCAA Tournament Second Round.
The defending BIG EAST Red Division regular season champions will open BIG EAST play this weekend with games against Georgetown and Seton Hall.
