St. John's Ranked No. 18 In NSCAA Poll

QUEENS, N.Y. - After posting a 1-0-1 record in the opening weekend of conference play, the St. John's men's soccer team (2-1-3, 1-0-1) is ranked No. 18 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll. The Red Storm used a pair of second half goals to defeat Georgetown, 2-0, before playing Seton Hall to 0-0 draw. St. John's also comes in at No. 22 in the Soccer America rankings.
St. John's is ranked No. 11 by College Soccer News, No. 12 by TopDrawerSoccer and No. 17 by Soccer Times.
The Red Storm used a pair of goals late in the second half to defeat the Hoyas in the BIG EAST opener. After Adam Himeno tallied the game-winner in the 80th minute, Tadeu Terra tacked on a goal in the 90th minute. Derby Carrillo made four saves for the shutout. Carrillo made three more saves in the double-overtime draw against Seton Hall to close out the opening weekend of conference action.
Named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll for his efforts, Carrillo is tied for first in the BIG EAST with four shutouts and also ranks second with a 0.30 goals against average.
Kyle Hoffer was also named to the honor roll after starting both games, playing all 200:00 minutes and helping a defensive unit that limited the opposition to just seven shots on goal.
