QUEENS, N.Y. - Fresh off its 60-40 victory over Seton Hall on Tuesday, the St. John's women's basketball team will look to continue its winning ways on Saturday when it travels to face BIG EAST foe DePaul at 8 p.m.
• There will be a live video stream of the game, in addition to a live audio feed that will be available for a fee online at DePaulBlueDemons.com. Live stats will be available for free.
History Lesson
• The contest between St. John's and DePaul is the fifth meeting in history between the teams. The Blue Demons lead the series, 3-1, and have won two straight. The last two meetings between the teams were closely decided, as the Jan. 15, 2008 game was a 91-80 overtime DePaul win and last year's game was decided by one point, a 59-58 Blue Demon victory on Jan. 27, 2009.
Scouting The Blue Demons
• DePaul enters the contest with a 12-5, 1-2 BIG EAST slate, and has won five of its last seven. Three of the last four Blue Demon games have went into overtime, and DePaul has posted a 2-1 mark during that span. Three players are averaging double figures in scoring for DePaul. Sam Quigley leads the way with 13.5 points per game, while Keisha Hampton is a close second, scoring 13.1 points per game. Anna Martin rounds out the double-digit scorers with a 10.9 scoring average.
Surging On Offense
• In the last two games, senior Kelly McManmon has gotten into an offensive rhythm. She posted consecutive double-digit scoring performances and has averaged 12.5 points during that span. She dropped 14 points against Cincinnati on Jan. 10 and followed that with an 11-point effort against Seton Hall on Jan. 12.
On Deck
• The Red Storm will host USF at Madison Square Garden on Jan. 23 at 2:30 p.m. The game is a doubleheader with the men's team, who host Villanova at noon. The women's basketball team has had much success at MSG, posting a 5-1 slate all-time at the storied venue.
