St. John's Women's Golf Releases 2010 Spring Schedule

QUEENS, N.Y. - Four tournaments up and down the East Coast highlight the St. John's women's golf team's spring season as the Red Storm prepares for the 2010 BIG EAST Championship in Innisbrook, Fla.
The Red Storm opens the spring schedule during spring break with the EKU El Diablo Intercollegiate from March 11-12 at El Diablo Golf Course in Citrus Springs, Fla. Last year, STJ took fifth place at the tournament hosted by Eastern Kentucky as Renee Cloutier led the way with a fourth-place showing. After that, St. John's heads to historical Williamsburg, Va., to compete in the C&F Bank Intercolligate from March 20-21 at Ford's Colony Country Club.
STJ's next tournament is Georgetown's Hoya Invitational from March 29-30 at Four Stream's Golf Club in Beallsville, Md. The Red Storm follows that with a trip to West Hartford, Conn., to compete in the Hartford Invitational from April 12-13 at Rockledge Golf Course.
The 2010 BIG EAST Championship will be held at the Island Course of Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Innisbrook, Fla., from April 18-20.
The NCAA East Regional will be held from May 6-8 at Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, N.C. The NCAA Championships will run from May 18-21 at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
St. John's is coming off a stellar finish to its fall season when the team took second at the Rutgers Invitational and closed out the autumn slate with at win at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic. Seniors Renee Cloutier and Lois Kim led the way for the Red Storm in the fall. Cloutier tied for fourth place in the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational and took second at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic. Kim tied for fifth at the Rutgers Invitational and placed third at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic.
