Final round was canceled due to inclement weather on Saturday
PRINCETON, N.J.– The St. John's women's golf team closed out the Princeton Invitational in seventh place. The Red Storm played two rounds yesterday before today's final round was canceled due to inclement weather.
The Johnnies carded a team score of 45-over, 613, to finish seventh in the 12-team field. St. John's tallied a 31-over, 315, and a much improved 14-over, in the second round at Springdale Golf Club on Friday.
Princeton won its home event with a cumulative score of 2-over, 570, on Friday. The Tigers had three players finish inside the top five on the leaderboard. Penn's Juliet Oh and Emily James of Rutgers shared co-medalist honors with a 2-under, 140.
Laura Mizlerova led all Red Storm golfers tying for a top-10 finish in the Garden State. The sophomore logged a 4-over, 146, highlighted by a season-low even par, 71, in the second of the day. Taylor Hale and Lily Huynh both tied for 27th place after shooting a 13-over, 155. Pihla Pennanen in her season debut shot a 16-over, 158, to round out the Johnnies scorers.
St. John's will be back in action at the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational on Oct. 11-12 at Normanside Country Club.
