Women's BIG EAST Championship Bracket
The St. John's men's and women's tennis teams left Queens today to head to the 2010 BIG EAST Tennis Championship, which begins on Thursday, April 22 in South Bend, Ind., on the campus of Notre Dame. The men earned a No. 6 seed, while the women are an 11th seed.
On the men's side, the sixth-seeded St. John's will face No. 3 USF on Friday in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship. The winner of the 12 p.m. match will move on to face the winner of No. 2 Notre Dame vs. No. 7 Georgetown at noon on Saturday.
The Red Storm women are an 11th seed for the championship and will face No. 6 Louisville at noon on Thursday. The winner of that match will take on DePaul on Friday at noon.
The men have an 11-11 record coming into the BIG EAST Championship, The Red Storm won six of its last seven matches and has a 3-0 record in conference play this season.
The Red Storm women are 9-10 this season, with a 2-3 league mark. STJ won eight of its final 11 matches heading into the championship.
