Ballo Brothers Team Up To Capture Wilson Cup

HARTSDALE, N.Y. - Mike Ballo Jr. and Peter Ballo won the 39th annual Wilson Cup last Friday at Scarsdale Golf Club.
The duo carded a 66-65--131 (-11) to finish first in a field of 50 two-man teams.
"The Wilson Cup was a blast," Mike Ballo Jr. said. "It was a great time teaming up with Pete in my last few months as an amateur player. The Wilson Cup has a lot of history and tradition. It's an honor for our names to be on that trophy."
Mike Ballo Jr. wrapped up his standout career at St. John's this spring. He led the team with a 73.66 stroke average and five top-10 showings. The 2009-10 co-captain will be among the field of competitors in the U.S. Open Sectional Qualifier held on June 7 at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, N.J.
Peter Ballo looks to build off a strong 2009-10 freshman campaign in which he posted four top-14 finishes and ranked third on the team with a 75.55 round average. His best showing as a tie for second at the Mission Inn Fall Intercollegiate (Oct. 2-4).
