QUEENS, N.Y. - Recent St. John's women's golf alum Renee Cloutier and rising junior Ellen Oswald have been named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team for Division I.
The NGCA recognized 504 women's collegiate golfers for their excellence in the classroom. The honorees maintained a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and competed in at least 50 percent (Division I) or 66 percent (Division II and III) of their team's scheduled competitive rounds during the year. Cloutier and Oswald helped lead the Red Storm to a 3.50 team GPA this year and the 2009-10 BIG EAST Team Excellence Award for women's golf.
Cloutier earned a degree in speech pathology and audiology this past May and received St. John's Student Achievement Medal. Oswald, a finance major, returns as the Red Storm's most experienced player.
