Lee Takes Third In Yale Women's Fall Intercollegiate

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - St. John's freshman Harin Lee carded a final-round 73 (+1) on Sunday to finish at 217 (+1) and take third place in the Yale Women's Fall Intercollegiate at The Course at Yale. The Red Storm women's golf team finished in sixth place.
The third-place showing was Lee's best finish of the season and marked her second top-5 performance. The Bayside native, who shot even-par 72s in the first two rounds, opened the season with a fifth-place tie in the Towson Women's Invitational. Lee finished seven strokes back of Yale's Seo Hee Moon, who won the individual title with a 6-under 210. Pennsylvania's Isabel Han was second at 3-under 213.
The Red Storm carded a strong final round, posting an 18-over 306. Yale won the tournament with a 296-293-297-886 (+22). Pennsylvania (35-over 899) and Boston College (43-over 907) rounded out the top three.
Junior Ellen Oswald bounced back from a second-round 85, shooting a 2-over 74 on Sunday to finish tied for 23rd at 15-over 231, marking the second-best par score of her St. John's career.
Sophomore Sebin Kim was steady throughout the tournament, shooting 78-77-78-233 (+17) and tying for 29th. Kim's 17-over par score was also an STJ career best.
Sophomore Mariana Barrios shot 80-81-81-242 (+26) to tie for 48th and freshman Stephanie Eybers carded an 83-83-84-250 (+34) and tie for 59th.
The Red Storm will next compete in the Rutgers Invitational Oct. 15-16 at Rutgers Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J. St. John's will look to build upon its success in the 2009 Rutgers Invitational when STJ took second place after shooting 622 (+46).
