MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - The Red Storm women's golf team heads to their third tournament of the fall on Monday and Tuesday, playing at Independence Golf Club (Midlothian, Va.) for the Richmond Spider Invitational.
"We're trying to play like we were playing at the beginning of the season," sophomore Harin Lee said. "We want to place the ball well, and really try to get some low scores."
St. John's will be one of ten teams at the 54-hole event, along with Boston College, Brown, Hampton, Hofstra, Navy, Radford, Richmond, Sacred Heart and Towson.
This will be the first 54-hole event for the Red Storm this season who are coming off a three-week break after a fifth-place finish at the Ball State Cardinal Classic. This will also be the first tournament of the year in the southeast, where the courses are a little different.
"We're going to try and spend the practice rounds really getting used to the course, and getting used to the different grass in Virginia," Lee said. "It'll be nice to get to some warmer weather."
The tournament will start with a 36-hole shotgun on Monday at 8:30 a.m., and conclude with 18-holes on Tuesday with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m.
