Leaverton, Lee and Quan Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

QUEENS, N.Y. - The post season honors continue to roll in for the St. John's women's soccer team as Jen Leaverton, Raelynne Lee and Kristina Quan were voted to the Capital One ® Academic All-District squads as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Friday.
After being named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team last Thursday, Leaverton was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 1 First Team and will be considered for the national ballot, which will be announced later this month. Leaverton is one of four forwards on the squad from 12 players total.
Lee and Quan were two of 14 student-athletes on the District 1 Second Team. It was a first time accolade for all three student-athletes.
With a 3.87 cumulative GPA in sports management, Leaverton led the Red Storm in scoring with 10 goals, including six game-winners. The Mansfield, Mass., native tallied 22 points in her senior season, a career-high for the forward. Her 22 points tied her with Cristin Burtis at No. 6 in the all-time record books for most points in a season. Leaverton's 10 goals also tied Kaitlin Schmidtfor No. 5 on the single season chart.
The senior forward was named to the NYC St. John's Classic All-Tournament team and earned All-BIG EAST honor roll accolades twice in 2011 (Oct. 3 and Oct. 24). She was also named the BigAppleSoccer.com National Player of the Week for Oct. 3 after scoring back-to-back game-winners, and all three goals at Rutgers (Sept. 30) and Seton Hall (Oct. 2). Leaverton also catapulted the Red Storm into the BIG EAST Tournament, when she scored two goals in the regular-season finale against Syracuse (Oct. 21). Leaverton finished her career with the Red Storm with 39 points on 17 goals and five assists. With 17 career goals, Leaverton becomes No. 9 in the all-time record books.

Leaverton has also played in 77 games and started 67. She ends her season tied for No. 2 on the St. John's record books in games played, tied with former teammates Amanda Pasciolla (2006-09), Courtney Rett (2000-03), Kelly McConnell (2006-09) and Amber Carr (1997-2000).
Lee, a graduate student who finished her undergraduate education in Environmental Studies, and boasts a graduate school GPA of 4.0, played in 15 games as a senior and started seven. Over her career, the Lake Stevens, Wash., native played 73 games and started 54. In her final year of eligibility, Lee scored one goal in the 56th minute of action against Albany (Sept. 2) and recorded one assist against USF (Oct. 16). For her career, Lee has eight goals and seven assists for 23 points. As a rookie in 2007, she scored five goals with three assists for a season-best 13 points. She earned NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-East Region academic team honors in 2009 and 2010 and is a four-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star. Lee was a 2011 member of St. John's prestigious President's Society and has volunteer hundreds of hours of community service including the Give Kids The World Village and Panama Plunge.

A sophomore defender, Quan boasts a 4.0 cumulative GPA as a chemistry major. The Calgary, Alberta native played in 17 games and started eight. As a rookie, Quan played in 18 games and started 10 and was honored as a 2010-11 BIG EAST Academic All-Star. She played 805 minutes of action as a sophomore and helped St. John's to seven shutouts.
