TEAM NOTES
- St. John's extends its home winning streak to four games and achieves its first three game winning streak of the season.
- The Red Storm earned a 48-30 rebound advantage against the Hawks. The +18 rebound differential is St. John's highest of the 2011-12 season.
- St. John's 22 offensive rebounds is its highest total of the 2011-12 season.
- The Red Storm played a balanced game, scoring 35 points in both the first and second half.
- St. John's outscored Hartford in points in the paint (30-16), points off turnovers (17-9), second chance points (20-9), fast break points (4-2) and bench points (15-14).
- The Red Storm are now 5-0 when outscoring their opponent in points off turnovers.
- St. John's is now 5-2 when freshman Amber Thompson takes the opening tip.
- The Red Storm went 20-31 from the free-throw line beating a previous season-high of 17 made free throws against Temple.
- St. John's improves to 2-1 over teams from the 2011 NCAA Tournament, with the win over Hartford and a 59-53 victory over Temple (Nov. 26).
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- Freshman Amber Thompson achieved her first-career double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
- Her 19 points was the highest total by a St. John's freshman since teammate Shenneika Smith's 23 points against Notre Dame on March 7, 2010.
- Thompson's 13 rebounds were the most by a Red Storm rookie since Da'Shena Stevens grabbed 13 rebounds against Manhattan on Nov. 22, 2008.
- Thompson passed set a new career-high in rebounds by the end of halftime with nine first half boards.
- Junior Eugeneia McPherson scored in double digits for the third straight game with 14 points on 4-of-10 shooting.
- Sophomore Keylantra Langley tied a career-high with nine points including a deep three point buzzer-beater to end the first half.
- Junior Nadirah McKenith finished with six assists marking the fifh time this season she has dished out more than five assists.
- Juniors Shenneika Smith and McKenith both finished with nine points apiece against the Hawks. It was the first time all season that neither of the two finished the gamewith double-digit points.
