QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's women's basketball head coach Kim Barnes Arico was selected to be profiled in a series of videos for the McDonald's Channel called "Mighty Moms," about women who handle dual roles in sports and as mothers. Starting in February, Barnes Arico's episode will air in McDonald's across the country.
Barnes Arico is in her ninth season as the head coach of the Red Storm women's basketball team. In her tenure she has turned the Red Storm into one of the top programs in the BIG EAST and has led St. John's to two NCAA Tournaments, five postseason appearances and seven-straight BIG EAST Tournament berths.
In addition to her on the court successes, Barnes Arico is a happy mother to her three children, Trevor, Emma and Cecelia. The trio of children plus her husband Larry are all featured in the episode.
