Team Notes
- St. John's shot 48.4 percent (31-of-64) from the floor, the squad's second-highest percentage in BIG EAST action this season.
- The Red Storm improved to 5-1 this year when leading at the half. The 16-point halftime lead tied a season-high margin (47-31 vs. Providence, 12/27/11).
- St. John's put four players in double-figures for the sixth time this season. The Red Storm is 3-3 in such games.
- St. John's finished with 17 assists, its most since totaling 19 against Providence (Dec. 27). The 17 assists tied for the second-most this season (UMBC, Nov. 13).
- The Red Storm scored a season-high 50 points in the paint, the most since also scoring 50 in the paint in a 93-78 win against Duke on Jan. 30, 2011.
- St. John's held the Mountaineers to just 35.4 percent (23-of-65) shooting from the floor, the Mountaineers' third-lowest percentage of the season. The 62-point effort tied for the fourth-lowest output this season and the 20-point first half marked the fewest points scored by the Mountaineers in either half this season.
Individual Notes
- Moe Harkless totaled 23 points and 13 rebounds to post his seventh-career double-double. Four of the freshman's double-double efforts have come in BIG EAST action. Harkless is averaging 18.1 points and 9.1 rebounds in conference action.
- Phil Greene scored in double-figures for the third-straight game, and sixth time this season, with an 11-point effort. Greene also dished out a career-high eight assists and had just one turnover. The freshman has a 3:1 assist to turnover ratio (18 assists, six turnovers) in the past four games.
- D'Angelo Harrison had 19 points, including a 3-of-6 effort from long range. Harrison is shooting 53.8 (7-of-13) from beyond the arc in the past two games, while averaging 23.5 points in that same stretch.
- Amir Garrett, who made his second-straight start, scored a career-high 11 points and also tied a career-best with seven rebounds. The freshman is averaging 9.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in his two starts.
