- St. John's allowed just 14 points in the second half, the fewest allowed in either half since allowing 14 in the first half of a 52-45 win against Rutgers on Feb. 6, 2008.
- St. John's finished with a season-high 48 rebounds and also posted a season-best +6 rebounding margin (48-42). The Red Storm outrebounded the Highlanders by a +12 margin (33-21) in the second half after being outrebounded by six (21-15) in the opening frame.
- The Red Storm shot a season-low 36.7 percent (22-of-60), but also allowed a season-low opponent shooting percentage of 32.2 percent (19-of-59).
- The Red Storm matched a season-high with 12 blocked shots, one shy of equaling the school-record of 13 set against Army on Jan. 27, 1982.
Individual Notes
- JaKarr Sampson finished with 15 points and 17 rebounds to post his first-career double-double. The 17 rebounds marked the most by a St. John's player since Lamont Hamilton also pulled down 17 boards against Niagara on Nov. 26, 2005. Sampson has now reached double-figures in six-straight games and is averaging 15.0 points in that stretch.
- D'Angelo Harrison scored a game-high 21 points to record his seventh 20-point effort in just eight games this season. Harrison scored 14 points in the second half and is averaging 16.7 points in the second half of play in the past three games. Harrison also went 2-of-7 from distance and is firing at a 48.4 percent clip (15-of-31) in the past five games.
- Chris Obekpa matched a career-high with eight points and also blocked five shots, his fourth game with at least five blocks this season.
- Amir Garrett pulled down nine rebounds and is averaging 8.6 boards in the past three games.
