Alexander-Mozeak Resigns As Head Women's Tennis Coach

QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's head women's tennis coach Gemma Alexander-Mozeak has resigned from her position, effective immediately. A national search to fill the position will begin immediately. Alexander-Mozeak was in her sixth season and second stint as head coach of the Red Storm.
"We thank Coach Alexander-Mozeak for the positive impact that she had on our program and the experience of her student-athletes. We wish her well in her future endeavors," said Chris Monasch, St. John's Director of Athletics.
A 1988 graduate of St. John's and captain of the tennis team, Alexander-Mozeak compiled 57 wins and reached double-figure victories in five of her six seasons at St. John's (2003-05; 2008-12). During her first stint with the Red Storm, Alexander-Mozeak helped guide a team that finished 3-7 the year before to a 12-5 mark in her first season. St. John's also earned the program's first national ranking under Alexander-Mozeak, as it cracked the ITA rankings on March 25, 2004 at No. 72.
