- In the first half against the Terriers, the Red Storm shot 77 percent from the free throw line, the highest mark at the charity stripe for SJU this season in the first half.
- St. John's recorded 11 steals in the win over the Terriers, breaking its previous game-high of seven that came against Iona.
- The Red Storm won the paint battle, 26-12, while also out-rebounding St. Francis (N.Y.), 39-31.
- The Red Storm's 3-0 record marks its best start since the 2009-10 St. John's squad that started 7-0.
Individual Notes
- Sophomore Amber Thompson grabbed 12 rebounds in the 66-56 win over St. Francis (N.Y.). It was the Newark, N.J. native's 11th contest in her career in which she recorded 10 boards or more.
- Sophomore guard Aliyyah Handford racked up 8 steals, including five in the first half, to set a new career high. Handford's previous game high came against NJIT on Dec. 28, 2012 when she tallied four steals.
- Senior Briana Brown posted her third double-digit scoring performance in as many games. Brown scored 10 points against Sacred Heart, 13 in the home-opener over Iona, and 10 points on Friday afternoon.
