QUEENS, N.Y. - Team Notes
- St. John's finished with 15 blocks for the second-straight game, matching a school-record first set against Fordham on Dec. 8, 2012. The Red Storm is averaging 14.3 blocks per game in the past three contests.
- The Red Storm grabbed a season-high 46 rebounds, including a season-high 17 on the offensive glass. The 46 boards were the most since a 48-rebound performance against St. Francis (N.Y.) on Dec. 15, 2012.
- The 47 points allowed were the fewest given up by the Red Storm since a 58-47 victory against Fordham on Dec. 8, 2012.
- St. John's was held to a season-low 37.3 percent (22-of-59) from the floor, the first time this season that the squad has shot below 40.0 percent in a game.
- The Red Storm committed a season-high 13 turnovers, but also forced a season-high 17 turnovers and improved to 3-0 this season when committing fewer turnovers than the opposition.
Individual Notes
- D'Angelo Harrison finished with a game-high 18 points for his fifth double-figure scoring performance in as many games this season. Harrison finished with three 3-pointers for the second-straight game and is shooting 35.3 percent (6-of-17) from long range in the past two games.
- JaKarr Sampson grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds to record the fifth double-figure rebounding performance of his career. Sampson, who is averaging 10.0 rebounds in the past two games, is averaging a team-best 8.0 boards per game this season.
- Chris Obekpa blocked six shots, tied a season-high with six points and tied a season-high with eight rebounds. Obekpa has 22 blocks in the past three games, an average of 7.3 per contest. The sophomore also finished 3-of-4 (75.0 percent) from the floor and is shooting 72.7 percent (8-of-11) from the floor in the past three games. The six-block performance marked the 11th time that Obekpa has blocked at least six shots in a game.
- Rysheed Jordan scored a career-high eight points to go with a career-high four assists and a career-high two steals. The freshman is averaging 7.5 points in his last two games played.
- Sir'Dominic Pointer shot 4-of-4 from the floor and went 3-of-4 from the line to score a season-high 11 points, his second double-figure game of the season and the 18th of his career.
- God'sgift Achiuwa scored a season-high four points to go with two blocks and one steal in a season-high 11 minutes.
