HARRISON, N.Y. - A complete effort in both doubles and singles lifted the St. John's women's tennis team to a 6-1 victory over conference opponent Providence in a Saturday afternoon match at Lifetime Fitness in Harrison, N.Y. The Red Storm improves to 6-6 overall and 2-0 in BIG EAST play.

Freshman Anna Morozova continued her impressive rookie campaign with a straight set, 6-2, 6-1 win at the No. 2 singles slot that clinched the match for SJU. The Yaroslavl, Russia native is now 8-4 on the season with her first of the season at second singles. The win also saw junior Nastya Polyakova tally her first win at the top singles position this season after spending most of the campaign at the No. 2 slot.

The final point of the night belonged to senior Yanita Arnaudova and her three-set victory over the Friars' Alana Prinos at third singles. In doubles, Arnaudova and Morozova claimed their team-leading sixth doubles win of the season with an 8-2 victory at the top doubles slot.
