Team Notes
- St. John's improved to 14-0 when holding the opposition to less than 70 points.
- St. John's shot 47.4 percent on 27-of-57 shooting from the field, its best shooting performance since Jan. 14 at Providence. In its two games against the Friars this season, the Red Storm converted 54-of-110 field goals (49.1 percent).
- Four Red Storm players scored in double-figures for the sixth-consecutive game.
- St. John's committed just 10 turnovers and has committed no more than 10 turnovers in 13 games this season, including each of the past three contests.
- The Red Storm held Providence to 3-of-16 (18.8 percent) shooting from beyond the arc. Providence entered Saturday averaging 30.8 percent on 3-point shots.
- Sir'Dominic Pointer recorded his third-career 20-point game, finishing with a team-high 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field. The swingman added seven rebounds and five assists. Pointer is averaging 17.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists over his last four games, while shooting 48.2 percent (27-of-56) in that span.
- D'Angelo Harrison totaled 15 points and has now reached double-figures in 98-of-113 (86.7 percent) of games played in his career. With 1,997 points, Harrison is just three shy of the 2,000-point plateau.
- Chris Obekpa finished with eight points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds, his sixth double-figure rebounding effort of the season and the 13th of his career. Obekpa added six blocks, his most since also swatting six shots on Dec. 22 vs. Long Beach State.
- Phil Greene IV finished with 16 points, five rebounds and three assists. Greene has reached double-figure scoring in nine-straight games and 10 of the last 11 games overall.
- Rysheed Jordan scored 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting and also added four rebounds and four assists. Jordan has scored at least 14 points in five of his last six games, shooting 50.9 percent (29-of-57) from the field in that span.
