Red Storm Sets Sights for Erin Hills Intercollegiate

QUEENS, N.Y. (Oct. 3, 2015) - The St. John's golf team returns for its second tournament of the season on Sunday as the Red Storm travels to Erin Hills, Wis., to compete at the Erin Hills Intercollegiate for a three day tournament (54 holes) hosted by Marquette.
Five freshmen made their debut a few weeks back on Sept. 12 when St. John's completed its first event of the season. The Johnnies placed ninth at The Doc Gimmler, held on the Bethpage State Park Red Course.
Seung Yub Baek led the pact, carding a 215 (+5) to tie for 27th place in his first appearance as a member of the Red Storm.
Fellow freshman Troy Evans saw an improvement as each round progressed, placing 29th with a total score of 216 (+6).
Starting Lineup
Once again Yub Baek headlines the lineup for St. John's. Rounding out the starting lineup is Evans, Giuseppe Truglio, Jonathan Spicci and Matthew Sweeney.
About The Field
The field will include 11 squads: Colorado State, Miami (OH), Marquette, Ole Miss, New Mexico, Northern Illinois, Oklahoma State, SMU, St. John's, UCLA and Wisconsin.
About Erin Hills Golf Club
The tournament will be played at the Erin Hills Golf Club, a par-72, 7,812-yard spread that will serve as the home for the 2017 U.S. Open.
Last year's team champion was UCLA. The Bruins shot 859 (+5) over the course of three rounds, while Bryson DeChambeau of SMU earned the 2014 medal as he finished four strokes under par with a score of 213.
