Danaejah Grant Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

QUEENS, N.Y. - Following a 2-0 week for the Red Storm that saw her average a near double-double, Danaejah Grant has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced this afternoon by the league office.
The senior from Piscataway, N.J., averaged 16.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game last week, as the Red Storm picked up wins over perennial local powers Rutgers and Marist to improve to 3-1 on the young season.
Against the Scarlet Knights on Thursday, Grant recorded the team's first double-double of the year, registering 16 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high four steals in front of her hometown crowd. The 5-9 guard showed a deft touch from deep, draining two of her three tries from beyond the arc.
In the Red Storm's home opener on Sunday night, Grant tallied 17 points and eight rebounds, helping her team cruise past a Marist squad that has made 10 of the last 12 NCAA Tournaments.
On the week, Grant shot 40 percent from the floor, including a three-for-six effort from beyond the arc.
Grant and the Red Storm will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 29, playing host to nationally ranked South Florida at Carnesecca Arena.
