Freshman Savannah Warren Earns First BIG EAST Weekly Honor

QUEENS, N.Y. - Freshman Savannah Warren earned her first collegiate award on Monday, landing a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after an impressive performance at the USF Presidents Day Weekend Tournament this past weekend.
Making only her seventh at bat of the season, the rookie blasted her first collegiate home run deep over the center-field fence at the USF Softball Stadium on Saturday, creating a 1-1 tie against Detroit in the second inning. Later in the sixth, Warren would spark the game-winning inning with a leadoff single before a Ellen Czuba RBI single would give the Red Storm a 3-2 victory.
The Red Storm will return to action on Feb. 24 as it heads to the West Coast to take on Cal State Northridge at 4 p.m. ET to kick off a California spring break trip.
