Freshman Krystal Puga Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

QUEENS, N.Y. - Freshman Krystal Puga earned the first BIG EAST Player of the Week honors for the Red Storm this season, taking the weekly honor after an impressive performance on the team's spring-break trip to California last week.
Puga finished the tough week-long trip batting .467 (7-for-15) with three home runs, three walks, nine RBI, two hit-by-pitches and four runs scored for a 1.067 slugging percentage and a .571 on-base percentage. The rookie's first career home run came with a two-run game-tying blast against Cal State Northridge on Feb. 24.
