QUEENS, N.Y. -- Senior Obe Ayton continued to shine in his senior year on the course on Sunday afternoon, finishing tied for second at the 2015 Princeton Invitational after carding a two-round total of 141 (+1) as the Red Storm finished in a tie for seventh overall with a 600 (+40).
Â
Heading into the final round with a one-over round of 71, Ayton opened up the morning with a pair of birdies on his first four holes before a bogey on the par-4 fifth to sit at one-under on the front nine. Following a birdie on 10, back-to-back bogeys on 14 and 15 slowed the senior down but three-consecutive pars on his final holes led Ayton to an even-par final round.
Â
Dylan Crowley was able to pick up four birdies on the day to improve three strokes from his first round total and end the day in 14th at five-over with a 145.
Â
John Russo finished tied for 27th with a 151 (+11) while Giuseppe Truglio rounded out the team's total after carding a birdie on the par-4 seventh to drop three strokes from his first-round total and end the week tied for 68th with a 165 (+25). Senior Mitch Hadfield took 70th overall after carding a two-day total of 167 (+27).
Â
The Red Storm will return to action on Tuesday for the 2015 Peacocks Invitational, a one-day tournament held at the Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station, New Jersey.
