Kingston, RI. -- The St. John's women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 6-1 victory at Providence on Saturday. The win marks the Red Storm's fifth conference victory and its 12th win on the season.

After sweeping doubles early in the match, the team entered singles play with an early 1-0 lead. Sophomore Anna Morozova earned her fifteenth singles victory on the season in the first singles flight, 6-2, 2-6, 10-6.

In second singles, senior Anastasia Polyakova swept Nicole Cyterski in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, for her eleventh singles victory on the season.

Freshman Irina Preotescu continued her dominant first season with the Red Storm as she defeated Olivia Hogan in sixth singles to give her 11 total singles wins for the season.

The Red Storm travels to Indianapolis this weekend for the BIG EAST Tennis Championship Presented by New York Life. The team is looking to make it to the championship after coming up short last year when it lost to DePaul in the semifinals. Â
