BIG EAST Softball Championship Tickets Now On Sale

April 23, 2015 CHICAGO -- Off to a 12-0 conference start this season, the St. John's softball team (21-13, 12-0 BIG EAST) has officially clinched a spot in the 2015 BIG EAST Championship, set for May 8-9 at the Ballpark at Rosemont, located in suburban Chicago. Tickets to see the Red Storm compete for the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament are now available for purchase.

Ticket prices per day are $5 (Age 13 and Over) and free admission is available for those 12 and under. BIG EAST students can also receive complimentary game tickets by showing a valid school I.D. at the box office. To reserve tickets in advance, call the DePaul University Ticket Office at (773) 325-SLAM (7526). Tickets will also be available on game days at The Ballpark at Rosemont box office.

Teams that finish in the top four in the BIG EAST regular-season standings, based on winning percentage, will qualify for the conference tournament. At 12-0 in league play, St. John's is the lone team to have clinched a spot so far in the BIG EAST Championship field. The host and reigning champion Blue Demons have qualified for the BIG EAST Championship every year it has been a member of the league and has advanced to at least the semifinal round all nine seasons, winning league crowns in 2008 and 2014.

Creighton will look to make it two in a row after qualifying in its first season of BIG EAST play in 2014. Currently in fourth place, Butler is eyeing its first postseason bid since joining the Conference. Villanova, Seton Hall, Providence and Georgetown all remain in the hunt as well.

Semifinal games, which will air live on FOX Sports 2, are set for 2 p.m. (ET) and 4:30 p.m. (ET) on Friday, May 8. The semifinal winners will advance to the final on Saturday, May 9, which will also air on FOX Sports 2. First pitch of the BIG EAST title game is set for 2 p.m. (ET).
