Knightes Garners BIG EAST Player Of The Week Accolades

QUEENS, N.Y. - After registering three multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games to help lead St. John's to a conference road sweep against Butler, Robbie Knightes has earned BIG EAST Player of the Week honors.
Knightes batted .500 (7-for-14) with seven RBI, including four RBI in the ninth inning. Knightes added one double and two runs scored, while drawing one walk for a .533 on-base percentage.
The sophomore went 2-for-5 with three RBI, including a go-ahead two run single to cap a four-run ninth-inning rally, in a 7-5 game one victory. Knightes then went 3-for-5 with two RBI in game two, adding an insurance run with an RBI single in the ninth inning of a 6-4 win. The third baseman finished the weekend 2-for-4 with two RBI, including what proved to be the decisive RBI single in the ninth inning of a 7-6 triumph.
Knightes currently ranks fourth in the league with a .362 batting average and also ranks fourth with a .448 on-base percentage.
